Interior Design Commission
Custom Interior Rope Installation commissioned by Warren Red Design & designer Dieter Cartwright. This was installed at the now defunct Demi Monde Lounge in Wall Street. Sadly, Demi Monde, a subterranean lounge, was destroyed in the Hurricane Sandy flooding.
Using 4,800 feet of rope, Midori hand wove 5 gorgeous wall units onsite for this luxury lounge. The works incorporated the organic nature of raw rope to bring in a warmth and natural softness to the overall metallic design of the lounge. The shapes provided a simultaneous sense of privacy and intrigue.
